Cookie Policy

This website www.alteus.ai (the “Website”) uses cookies, including third-party cookies. This policy will inform you how the cookies are placed, used on this website and how you can manage them.

We use cookies in order to provide you with an enhanced browsing experience and services better adapted to your particular needs and interests. Some of the cookies are necessary in order for you to log in, store your preferences and for the proper display of our web pages. Other cookies offer valuable feedback on how the Website is used, enabling us to increase its efficiency and accessibility.

WHAT IS A “COOKIE”?

Cookies are small text files stored on a user's computer by your web browser when you use websites.

The cookie is installed after a request is issued by a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) and is completely “passive” (does not contain software, viruses or spyware and cannot access information stored on the user’s hard drive). The usage of cookies allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie, and thus it can carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next. Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

WHAT IS THE LIFECYCLE OF A COOKIE?

Cookies are administered by web servers. The lifecycle of a cookie is limited. It can be removed manually when you delete it or it expires. From a technical perspective, only the web server sending the cookie may access it again when you return to the website associated with the web server. The time of expiry of a cookie can be set when the cookie is created. By default, the cookie is destroyed when the current browser window is closed, but it can be made to persist for a specific period of time after that. For example, cookies we use can last for up to two years.

The lifecycle of a cookie may vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it was placed. As mentioned above, certain cookies are exclusively used during a single session (“session cookies”) and are not remembered after you leave the website. They are temporarily stored in the cookie folder of the web browser which remembers you until you exit the respective website or you close the browser window. Other cookies are remembered and reused each time you return on the respective website (“persistent cookies”). They are stored on the hard drive of a computer or other device (and depend, in general, on its pre-set lifecycle). Persistent cookies include cookies placed by a website different from our Website also known as “third party cookies”, which may be used anonymously to memorize your interests, so that it delivers relevant advertising content.

Nevertheless, cookies may be deleted by you at any moment by accessing the browser settings.

WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE?

We use both session cookies and persistent cookies on our website. Depending on the purposes for which they are used, cookies can be:

Essential/Strictly necessary cookies – used to efficiently and quickly load the pages and offer features by distributing the workload across several computers, to authenticate you and to ensure your secure connection and prevent fraudulent use of your account or detect other malicious activity on the website.

Functionality cookies – these cookies are used in order to enhance your user experience and to remember your preferences such as your language preference or cookies which are necessary for the playback of media content or which can autofill a form for you. We use persistent and functional cookies to recognize a computer when a user visits our website, track users as they navigate the website, improve the website's usability, to administer the website, to prevent fraud and improve the security of the website. For example, cookies are used to record if the data subject has agreed (or not) to the use of cookies on our website, so that you are not asked the question every time you visit the site.

Performance and analytics cookies – these cookies and similar technologies collect information on how users interact with the Services and enable us to improve how the Services operate. For example, we use Google Analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors arrive at and browse our products and website to identify areas for improvement such as navigation, user experience, and marketing campaigns. You may refuse the use of Google Analytics cookies by downloading and installing Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Targeting and advertising cookies – these cookies collect information about your browsing habits in order to make advertising relevant to you and your interests. They remember the websites you have visited and that information is shared with other parties such as advertising technology service providers and advertisers.

Social media cookies - these cookies are used when you share information using a social media sharing button or “like” button on our websites or you link your account or engage with our content on or through a social media site. The social network will record that you have done this. This information may be linked to targeting/advertising activities.

Third party cookies

These cookies are set by third party domains or websites which can place cookies through the website you visit, hence their name “third party cookies”. These third parties are other entities than eSolutions and they can place booth session or persistent cookies. The performance, analytics, targeting and advertising, and social media cookies described above fell under this category of third party cookies.
